Raj Pal Batra, M.Sc., M.B.A.

Treasurer

Mr. Batra, a pioneer in the metal recycling industry, joined the DOCS team in 2003. Mr. Batra served as Manager of Operations for nearly 20 years for a metal recycling company, before transitioning to the purchasing side. Mr. Batra lead the cost control and purchasing team at Agmet Metals, Inc., for 13 years before retiring. During his "retirement," Mr. Batra has provided cost control consulting for San Diego businesses and currently serves as the Treasurer for DOCS.

Lori Varaich, J.D.

Executive Director, Corporate Secretary

Mrs. Varaich joined the DOCS team when it was founded in 2002 and was voted as one of the Top Young Attorneys of 2008 in the San Diego Daily Transcript. Mrs. Varaich owns a law practice and provides general counsel services to professional medical corporations and nonprofit organizations. Mrs. Varaich oversees all corporate governance concerns at the charity and is now actively involved in several public outreach programs and fundraising for DOCS.

Alidad Vakili, J.D.

Corporate Counsel

Mr. Vakili has served as Corporate Counsel for DOCS since 2005. An associate at K & L Gates, LLP, Mr. Vakili concentrates his practice on representing startup and emerging companies in a wide range of industries, including technology, biotechnology, health care, real estate and retail businesses. Jessie J. Knight, Jr.

Mr. Knight is CEO of San Diego Gas & Electric. Before joining SDG&E, he was senior Vice President of SDG&E's parent company, Sempra Energy. Mr. Knight served as President and CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce, and on the California Public Utilities Commission as a Commissioner. Elected to the Board of Directors for DOCS in 2005, Mr. Knight also is a board member at Alaska Airlines and the San Diego Padres Baseball Club.

Mr. Crotta is First Vice President Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Lokesh Tantuwaya, M.D.

Dr. Lokesh Tantuwaya is a board certified neurosurgeon who specializes in skull base surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, and complex spinal surgery, including back and neck injuries. Alfonso Camberos, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Camberos is a board certified plastic surgeon and is highly regarded in cosmetic plastic surgery of the face, breast surgery, and body contouring. Don Kikkawa, M.D.

Dr. Kikkawa is Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology and Chief of the Division of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. He served as Director of the UCSD Ophthalmology Residency Program for 10 years and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS).
